This blog is posted by "Elijah's Table," a joint project of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration (1 Hood Road, Derry, NH) and Etz Hayim Synagogue (1-1/2 Hood Road, Derry, NH), both located on Hood Road in Derry, NH. Twice a month we provide free, family-friendly dinners, which are served in a relaxed atmosphere. There are other organizations in the Derry, New Hampshire area that also offer free and delicious meals to the public. Please see the calendar on the right-hand side of this blog for a list of upcoming meals. And don't forget the offerings of the Sonshine Soup Kitchen (described on the left-hand side of this blog) and The Derry Salvation Army!

The weather outside was frightful, but the food was delightful.

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday breakfast at Etz Hayim this past Sunday.  It was lovingly put together by many volunteers.  We had vegetable quiche, cheese quiche, pancakes with three different kinds of syrup (maple, blueberry and strawberry), kugels, muffins, hot chocolate with marshmallows, and even peppermint sticks.  What a treat!

And healthy food, too!

Please join us for a YUMMY breakfast on 12/16.

Thank you for spending the afternoon with us.

Thank you for spending Thanksgiving Day with the Community Meals Network at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration.  Special thanks to the Salvation Army for organizing all the nonprofits that are involved in this wonderful community activity.  The meal, music, and company were wonderful.  (PS, remember that December's free meal at Etz Hayim Synagogue is BREAKFAST on December 16.  See you then.)

Happy customers.

Let’s get the word out.

It made me happy to see this article in The Derry News yesterday.

Enjoying a meal with dear friends.

I stopped by Elijah's Table tonight and got to see a few people I had not seen in a while.  Everyone looks great, as did the food:  lasagna, an awesome spinach salad, fresh steamed broccoli and carrots, lots of cake.  The pictures below display one of the things I love about ET:  the warmth of the volunteers and our clients, and the friendship we all feel for each other.  Join us next time.

The salad chef.

Happy customer who wisely eats his vegetables.

New pals (the guy doesn't know these women but, in the true spirit of ET, he hopped in for a hug).

Cuties.

Friends forever.

Summertime, and the Living is Easy

Bonnie made a picnic tonight for the Elijah's Table customers:  tuna, egg, and pasta salad, pickles and olives, and yummy potatoe chips.  And, of course, there is always dessert at ET.  Join us next time.
