This blog is posted by "Elijah's Table," a joint project of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration (1 Hood Road, Derry, NH) and Etz Hayim Synagogue (1-1/2 Hood Road, Derry, NH), both located on Hood Road in Derry, NH. Twice a month we provide free, family-friendly dinners, which are served in a relaxed atmosphere. There are other organizations in the Derry, New Hampshire area that also offer free and delicious meals to the public. Please see the calendar on the right-hand side of this blog for a list of upcoming meals. And don't forget the offerings of the Sonshine Soup Kitchen (described on the left-hand side of this blog) and The Derry Salvation Army!

Standing room only!

It was Spring outside today, and we had a huge crowd. We managed to find seats and tables for everyone and we heard folks saying things like, "Fabulous meal," and "I worked as the lead waitress at a fancy restaurant for many years, but the service here is even better than it was there!" We were thrilled to have so many guests, and doubly thrilled that they enjoyed our food. We had appetizer plates with cheese, gaucomole and hummos; eggplant, lasagna, and mac and cheese; and pound cake with strawberries and whipped cream. Please make our next event just as terrific by joining us and bringing your friends.

  1. Congratulations! Any idea how many people came in? How many more would that be from the average? And why this time around? Was it the newspaper article?
